I love Illustration. Exhibition of Graphic Design Students’ Works at Dom Kultury Wola

How does illustration tell a story? How does it evoke emotions and spark imagination? The answers to these questions can be found at the unique exhibition titled: I love Illustration, showcasing the works of Graphic Design students from the Faculty of Computer Engineering, Graphics, and Architecture at Vistula University. From March 27 to April 9, at the Wolskie Centrum Kultury OTWARTA KOLONIA, you can admire works by 150 works by our young artists, who have taken on the role of creators of visual narratives.

The I love Illustration exhibition is the result of the work of second and third-semester students from both Polish and English-language programs. Under the guidance of Zuzanna Lewandowska, PhD and Magdalena Nowakowska-Troniewska, PhD the young graphic designers delved into the secrets of illustration art, experimenting with various techniques—from traditional to digital. Series of illustrations, leporello books, storyboards, book covers, and conceptual graphics are the outcome of the students’ work on semester projects aimed at introducing them to the basics of creating illustrations and books.

Each piece is not only a testament to talent but also to immense dedication. The students went through the entire creative process—from the conceptual stage, through the selection of techniques and the organization of their workspace, to the final presentation of their works in the form of books. Illustration, the main theme of the exhibition, is not just an art form but also a complex intellectual and conceptual process, requiring full commitment from the creator at every stage of creation.

The I love Illustration exhibition is not only a summary of the students’ semester work but also an opportunity to see how young artists search for their own visual language. It is also a story about how images can become a tool of communication, how they can inspire, move, and provoke reflection.

The exhibition’s opening will take place on April 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wolskie Centrum Kultury OTWARTA KOLONIA. This unique venue brings together creators and culture enthusiasts, fostering an environment for the exchange of ideas and inspiration. It is a space that gathers open-minded, independent, and curious individuals, where contemporary art meets tradition, and universal cultural values are celebrated.

Join us, get inspired, and let yourself be swept away by the magic of illustration!
