Ashley Ganyanhew, Bułgaria

I undertook my Erasmus Exchange semester in Bulgaria, at the American University in Bulgaria – AUBG located in Blagoevgrad. I was in the Business Administration Faculty. I learnt about different marriage cultures and practices during a culture festival held at AUBG which I participated in and it was the first time ever Zimbabwe took place in the event.
I made a lot of new friends from different countries such as USA, Bulgaria, Turkey and Romania. The most fun part about studying abroad was meeting new people, experiencing a different learning style and an amazing campus, and also experiencing a different culture and scenery.
I spent my free time watching „Friends” with my new found friends, exploring the city and eating vegan food with my vegan friends as I found it interesting, we would explore other options such as Bulgarian kebab. Life abroad was challenging and exciting at the same time, but it definitely molded me  into a better person and I feel like I can conquer the world and I can definitely now handle all kinds of pressure better.
The most beautiful and interesting places I got see whilst still in Blagoevgrad were the old historical city located just near downtown, the catholic church, the cross and lastly Bachinovo park. I rate the Erasmus program at stunning 5 stars and would definitely recommend any one to give it a try. The advice I would like to give any students that will like to participate  in the Erasmus Exchange program is that as scary as it seems, go for it , it’s a great opportunity and a massive asset to your CV, also don’t forget to research on the area you will like to travel to and make sure all your chosen subjects correlate with your current study program and finally make some local friends that will help you navigate the city and be familiar with your new home.
