Unconventional Open Days at the Vistula University Branch in Gdańsk – A Report from the Game “The Secret of the Redoubt – A Campus Investigation”

On Saturday, May 27, a unique city game titled “The Secret of the Redoubt – A Campus Investigation” took place at the top of the picturesque Biskupia Górka hill, organized by the Gdańsk branch of the Vistula University. The event combined the atmosphere of old-school investigations with a modern approach to education, creating a fascinating space for fun, exploration of academic programs, and discovery of the charm of the historic campus.

Participants began their adventure at the foot of the hill, from where they set off toward the former military redoubt—now the restored university campus. Within the 19th-century walls, players encountered puzzles inspired by history and criminology.

Teams solved ciphers, analyzed fingerprints in a forensic lab, connected clues in the reading room, experimented with elixirs in a chemistry lab, practiced in a martial arts room, and ultimately uncovered the truth in the auditorium—the final stop of the game. A key message of the experience was that wisdom, knowledge, and teamwork are the greatest treasures.

The event attracted many participants—students, pupils, and whole families. For many, it was not only great fun but also an opportunity to explore the university’s educational offerings in an inspiring and unconventional way.
